The English Cae

The other day I was thinking about how weird it would be if I were to live in America on an English schedule, that way I would be able to talk to all of my English friends in their normal time, but how would I be able to make this work in America. So I calculated it out yesterday. I would follow my normal routine, but just back it up a couple hours. All of the timing for this portion will be in EST.

1:00am Wake up
7:00am Eat Lunch & go to work*
12:00pm Get home from work*
1:00pm Start dinner
5:00pm Go to bed

*The issue that I run into, going to work is the fact that we are in America, so I would have to go to work at noon and come home at 5 in EST.

Now to translate my schedule into GMT, and this is what you would get.

6:00am Wake up
12:00pm Eat lunch & go to work
5:00pm Get home from work
6:00pm Start Dinner
10:00pm Go to bed

Make this schedule can go with my December 32nd idea ;) Or maybe I could just move to London, I think the latter is the easier of the two.

Flashback Friday

This weeks prompt:
Were/Are either of your parents or other family members active military personnel or veterans? What branch? When did they serve; was it during wartime or peacetime? Did they share much about their experiences with you or others? When you were growing up, was the USA (or your country, for those outside the US) involved in a war? What do you remember about it and how did it impact you? Are you, your spouse, or any of your children veterans?

Neither of my parents are/were in the military, but I've had a lot of family before them that is/were. The most recent one would be a cousin, Bill. He was retired at the time, but was then asked to come back in, to fight the war on terror. Bill did, and well Bill's always prepared, but he forgot a major part when he went to training. He forgot his gun, it was the joke for the family, all of us had to imagine Bill with a plastic gun, not his own. Bill came back a couple years ago, and is doing well.

When I was growing up (Flashback here! Cue the awesome music), well I'm still growing up (Oh, well cut the flashback and the awesome music - - - Well you can still play the awesome music), so the most memorable war, is the one that "is over", well at least the combat part in Iraq, not that I think it's over. But it would be the war on terror, as most people called it. I don't really think it effected me, other then I wanted to know what was happening, why, and it was probably part of that and my parents that got me into politics. I actually have a feeling that terrorism is going to exist, until we find a better way to stop it.

I have thought about going into the service, weather the Navy or the Air Force, but there's always things stopping me. If I do decide to go into any of the armed forces, I'll do it with pride and for my country, or if I decide not to go into the armed forces, I'll be alright. But as I used to argue with my friend who said everyone died in the service. If the president, any president one I like or dislikes, calls upon me to go out and fight for our country for whatever reason, I'll be there, maybe not for the president, but for America.

God bless all of the men and women who have are currently serving or have been in any part of the military!

PS. If anyone could find the quote about God having a place for Servicemen up in Heaven, that would be greatly appreciated.

Short Hair

Well I did it, I finally cut my hair short. I actually donated it to Locks of Love in Jill's name. You see Jill, my old choir director was recently diagnoised with Breast Cancer, and well I decided to cut my hair for Locks of Love! I absolutely love my short hair! I'm so glad I cut my hair, and it's for a good cause :)

Wednesday Hodgepodge

Thank you so much Joyce!! So I found this on Linda's blog, linking to From This Side of the Pond, and can I just day, my Wednesday troubles are over!!!

1. Are you more like your mom or your dad?

I don't enjoy this question one bit!! I don't want to be like either one of them, just because I am their child. Well, I have both of my parent work ethic, and I'm told that I sound and look more like my mother, but I have a feeling I'm more like my father in the way that we show are feelings - - - We don't show them at all. I guess I'm truly half and half, and it won't come into further play until I have kids and then I'll be parenting like my parents. Oh no!

2. Do you like roller coasters?

I aboslutely love roller coasters!! That's the whole fun of an amusement part, don't ya think!!

3. How did you name your blog and do you now wish you had thought about it maybe another five minutes before hitting publish? Would you change your blog title if it were not a huge pain in the derriere? (French makes everything sound a little nicer doesn't it?)

YOU SAID THE POND!!! THE POND! THE POND!! Okay, sorry, I've been discussing the fact that some Americans call the space of water between America and England the Pond with my English counselor, whom I call Kim, and I wrote a whole blog post about her here, anyways, back to the question and my answer. Well at the time it was, what it meant, but now that Mom and I don't have much time, I kind of wish to rename it to something that is about me, but oh well. Mom does get on once and a while and I enjoy the name :)

4. What is the best wedding gift you received? Not married? Didn't get any gifts? Then what is the best wedding gift you've ever given?

I think I've only given two wedding gifts that I can fully remember, and they were kind of boring, so they don't really count. Oh well, I guess this is what happens when you're under twenty. Well an epic gift that I would love to receive when I'm married would be a horse! Yes, that is completely right, I just said I wanted a horse! Okay, I'm a little weird, but it would be a great gift :D

5. What bill do you least like to pay?

Cell Phone, okay I don't mind paying that bill, but it's the only one I have currently, so it's the only one that I could answer the question with!

6. Is the glass half full or half empty?

Half full on good days, half empty on bad days.

7. What is your favorite word? Okay okay, calm down. How aboutone of your favorite words?

Phlegmatic, yup, that's a right a word you'll never use in your lifetime, but it's pretty awesome. Don't you think?

8. Insert your own random thought here- A short clip of Kim & I talking on Skype, discussing the world of our parents and ages when we got to do stuff :)
[8:57:35 AM] Kim: 11= 1st hole and phone (just for emergemces as we change to secondary school), 16= 2nd hole, 18= tattoo.
[8:57:58 AM] Kimh: My mum can be very lax, but the rules she does have are inflexable
[8:58:32 AM] Cae: 13 = first hole, 15 = cell phone (I had to pay for it) 16 = learner's permit for driving 18 = FREEDOM!!! LOL probably secon hole 21 = Cruise
[8:58:49 AM] Cae: *cruise & tattoo in a place that can always be hidden
[8:59:41 AM] Cae: My parents have rules, and you decided to break or bend the rule then you're in trouble. Mom's more relaxed over thing than Dad would be, and vice versa

Is that random enough?

English Counselors + Me + Skype = ♥

This past summer I went to camp, a Girl Scout camp to be exact. And let me just say, most of our counselors were international, and that made them so much more cooler! Well Kim & I got really close, she was really nice and funny and awesome, plus she was at the barn, so we spent most of our time together. For the past two months, I've been trying to get Mom & Dad to talk about Skype, to see if I could have one, yesterday they finally said yes! So I got my Skype, and Kim got hers, and we skyped for most of the American evening. Throughout skyping, I told Kim three stories, we talked about college, and then we were translating American into English, it was kind of funny. The whole time where Kim and I skyped, it was like we were reunited - - -What's that song? Ahhh found the song!!! Well it was the most epic conversation possible, and I absolutely love the fact that Skype is free. Kim, also gave me my superpower for my Google profile! My superpower "silver tounge and everything I read comes to life, Plus I can write my own stories and make them come to life".

Yes, you just wasted about several of you life reading about being reuniting with a Camp Counselor!

The Story of the Black Book

There once was a women, and this women had a black book, now this black book isn't like other black books. This black book was the calendar book, the one that can fit into her purse, and this black book has all of this womens life! Now one day this women was using her black book, and put it away, but she thought that she left it on the table. Come the next morning, when she couldn't find her black book, she started asking her family if they know were it has gone, and no one knew! The women looked through her whole house! She was afraid that she's lost her black book and that isn't good! Throughout the day, her daughter would ask "Mom, can I go to this on Monday?" and the women would always respond "I could answer that if I had my black book!" and her daughter would respond "MOM! I have no clue where it is! I've looked everywhere for it!" At dinner that night, the women told her family that they weren't leaving the house until someone found her black book, and they all had things to do tomorrow! "Mom" her daughter cried at the thought of being stuck in the house looking for a book that simply just doesn't exist in the house, it wasn't until the daughter remembered that she saw the black book this morning, when she was getting a contact. She walked over to the cabinet and saw the black book. The girl grabbed the black book and brought it to her mom. "Is that what you were looking for Mom?" Her daughter asked, the women grabbed her black book and a chorus of jokes started flying from every direction, the womens husband, her son, and her daughter all had a crack or two at the fact that the women left her black book in the most obvious place, and she didn't even think of looking for it there!
