Weekend Rewind

Well, this past Labor Day weekend, has been very busy even though it isn't over yet. To start off with Saturday, dad, Bro #1, and I were cleanning the house and well trying to get food for 40 people who were coming the next day to celebrate Mom's birthday. Dad  and Bro #1 took the truck and went from home to Walmart, Big Y, Wonder Bread Store, Cakettes, and finished their shopping journey at Resturant Depot over in CT. When they came back the house was cleanned, the tile floor mopped, the wooden floor swept and everything was going according to plan. Bro #1 and I unloaded all the groceries into my bedroom, well like the soda, chips, bread, and the cans. Mom didn't notice, I don't know why, but oh well that's just the beginning. Most of everything was done for Saturday except for just the touch-ups around the house.

We actually had to stage her cutting the first piece, because she couldn't wait!
Sunday!!! It was the big day, the truth to see if we, I, pulled this whole party off. So far Dad only had to tell Mom a that some of his friends are coming up, because he had to buy beer, and why would my dad buy two things of those cute little tiny kegs of beer for just himself? He wouldn't, so he told Mom that some friends are coming up. So we went to church and one of Mom's friends, who I didn't invite asked me what we were doing for Mom, and I was like "Well, we're having a party for her, come bring the family to our hours 2:00," needless to say she and her family showed up. After church we had to set up for the part without mom noticing- - - This was really fun, because we had to get a table and our old front-door (which was used as a nother table) upstairs, and behind Mom without her noticing. Well we got both out, we actually hit the basement door with the table and dad and I thought Mom would turn around from the sink, but she didn't. It was comical to figure out how oblivious mom was to the whole thing. Once the party started to get going, Mom was surprised and we all enjoyed it! The whole party was a success and for only having one week to prepare it, I did really well. Well, today is mom's actually birthday so, I need to do something nice for her, maybe make a batch of cookies. But what did you do over the weekend? Anything fun?

Those little circle things, are cakettes and are really really really really really good! Thank you Tessa & Chris!!

Happy Birthday Momma!

Birthday Gifts

So I spent my morning runing errands with my boss, aka Mrs. T on here. She is more than a second mother to me, she is a God sent angel in my life! So her birthday is coming up, and I have no clue what to get her! So while on our errands today I had to ask her what she wanted. The first time she said she wanted 1 million unmarked dollars, the second time she said "Cae, I don't want anything". Now if I listened to her and if she listened to me I wouldn't get any anything, BUT Mrs. T doesn't listen to me when I say that I don't want anything, so I'm not going to listen to her! So I asked her again! She then said nail polish! So I'm going to deposit my paycheck and I will go and buy some cool nail polish colors, which she told me she likes. And maybe I'll get her a flower or two.

Colors
Dark Purple
Burgandy
Lilac
Mocha

Growing Up To Fast?

I have to say, I've always been the more responsible out of my age group, even above my age group. I would go to Kentucky with my church, the teenagers would be at the bonfire, I would want to be reading my book. I would be on the Confirmation Retreat with my church, the teenagers would make comments about who's the hottest boy at the retreat, I would want to actually pay attention to what the adult was saying. Most of the teenagers would call adults by there first name, I'm trying to change that for me, I know call all of my adult friends Mrs., Ms., or Mr., very rarely do I call them by their first name, unless they want me to.

Just recently I was decorating a poster board for a story time that I'm putting on and let's just say that I'm not the most creative person out there. The director of the library Mrs. T, asked me where my creativty was, and that I needed to embrace my inner child. Since then I've been thinking, maybe I do need to embrace my inner-child, maybe I need to realize that I grew up a little too fast, I didn't enjoy my life as a child as an actual child, I cared too much about making money, wanting to buy a CD (Certificate of Deposit), what stock to invest in, politics, reading, nothing like Barbies, ponies (ok well I did care about ponies), my hair, dresses, etc. So I've made myself a reselution with my birthday coming up, I'm going to spend the next year, embracing my inner-child, I'm going to do the stuff that I should have never let go, I'll still be mature, but I'm not going to be overly mature, and grown up. Maybe I should just give myself some time to have fun, and not worry about money, the economy, homework, politics, political issues, and stuff like that. Maybe I should keep them in mind, but shouldn't keep them in my way to prevent me having a life as a kid. So from now on, I'm going to embrace my inner-child, and maybe you'll just recognize the change, maybe you wont, or maybe to recognize the change you need to embrace your inner-child also.

~Till next time,
Dear Daughter ♥
