Letters to God

Hey guys!

I need your opinion everyone, I'm thinking of starting another blog., on top of this one. But this new blog would have a stronger Christian base, then this one. I thought about it's name and theme for the past couple weeks and it didn't come to me, until I forgot to pray one night, but instead I wrote a letter to God. So I figured I would start a blog called "Letters to God". Now, I don't know if this is even a good idea, so this is where you guys come in. If you can lend me an opinion on weather I should start a new blog called "Letters to God" and if the theme is alright, that would be awesoem!

Don't Drink and Drive!

I was watching tv this morning, like an average teenager, okay I was watching Tour de France. Anyways I was watching tv this morning and a Captain Morgan commercial came on, it was only around 10:30, so I usually don't like seeing alcohol commercial's early in the morning, but this one was an exception. It encourages not to drink and drive and I think that we should see more commercials like this.

Flashback Friday - Injuries!!

It is Flashback Friday!!! I feel so bad for not being able to participate in the past couple weeks of the Flashback Fridays, but when I logged onto my blogger this morning and saw it was about injuries I can write a post about this!!!!!

Prompt:
Were you prone to accidents and injuries when you were growing up? Did you ever break a bone? Knock out any teeth? Get stitches? Have you ever ridden in the back of an ambulance? Did you ever have surgery or spend any time in a hospital? How did your folks treat injuries and illnesses? With lots of TLC or by telling you to get a stiff upper lip? Was there a particular home remedy that your mom (or dad or whoever!) used or any "traditions" involving injuries or illnesses? What's the worst injury (or illness) you had when you were growing up?

My Flashback:

My first major injury was when my mom was still quilting, she no longer quilts, probably for this reason. Well I was only about four or so, and my mom had her quilt in her bedroom, it was all together, mom just needed to sew it, so it there were a lot of pins in it. My mom said "Make sure Johnny (our cat at the time) doesn't go on the quilt!" I told mom okay and if Johnny got on the blanket I would get him off. Well one day I was playing on the water bed, which was conveniently located in my parents bedroom and a lovely cat comes running in and onto the quilt, so thinking I was safe and would kneel on any pins I crawled on the quilt. Needless to say I got a pin stuck upside down in my left knee (gross I know!). Mom found a stick horse, took the head off of the pole and tied it to my leg. I was rushed to Connecticut Children's Hospital in Hartford, when we got there it gets all fuzzy, they do get it out and when they go to clean it my mom needs to leave the room because they cleaned it with betadine and mom doesn't do so well with it, she passes-out, but I got Barbie chocolate from my grandmother AND Johnny did get off of the quilt. Mission: Accomplished

My second major injury happend in 2004, of course after both UCONN Men & Women win the NCAA Tournament (remember this comment). Well it was a beautiful day in Conneticut, which it should be there was a parade in Hartford (remember this) and my best friend was watching it, she said that it was busy and a lot of the roads were blocked (remember this also). I decided to scooter on my new red Razor, that I got for Christmas. I never wore knee or elbow pads, because they were just uncomfortable. Well I learned that a scooter couldn't got over a thick stick in the middle of my driveway, since I had to test this theory I went over the handle bars and went sliding on my driveway! Let's say I went back inside with several layers of skin non-exsistant on my knee (the left one). So I went on my parents bed, trying not to bleed on it as mom attempts to get dad to come here. He showed up, in his new avalanch, only about a couple years old, well guess where we need to go?! To Hartford, the Children's Hospital. So as we're trying to make it to the hospital, since the parade was going on. . .The most love that I got from my father was "Don't you dare bleed on my leather interior!" Gee thanks dad for that much love! We finally got to the hospital, with my Safari Minnie Mouse in my hands, and some guy starts cleanning out my wound (OW!), let's just say to prevent from screaming my poor Minnie's ear will never be the same.

Well, the positive thing is both injuries happened on my left leg, so I can be a leg model for only my right!

My next major health issue was when I was younger, maybe six-ish. I was really tired when I was at work with mom, and I usually didn't take naps in the day, it just isn't me. Well mom started tracking everything, and before I knew it I was at the doctors having them talk about Iron and somehow I ended up taking little green, nasty pills! I was anemic, and had to raise my iron (ew). . . Okay the pills were very bad when you chewed them, I guess that's why you were supposed to swallow them, but I didn't like swallowing pills at the time. I finally actually did get better, so I guess I'm not anemic since I don't have to eat the little green pills.

I guess that concludes the novel about Cae's injuries!

Coffee & Show Tunes

I walked into my local coffee shop with a friend, as we ordered our drinks and a cakette the owner Tessa, I, and Ari got into a conversation about show tune and Tessa burst into singing this song word for word and she did amazing! It was such a pleasant surprise, and why I love small town coffee shops instead of my Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks!

What is a pleasant surprise that you've found at a local place which everyone knows who you are?

James Grippando

Jame Grippando is an author of suspense novels. I have only read two book by James Grippando, but I have fallen in love with him as an author. Grippando writes in a fashion, where you don't want to put the book down, and you could sit and read his books from cover to cover! The two books that I have read, Money to Burn and Intent to Kill, the person who you think did it, didn't do it and then you need to recalculate who really committed the murder or what not. Reading Grippando isn't just suspenseful but it's exciting, with his books you want no interruptions, because it is just that good.

Grippando was a book that one of the members on my library board checked in and said that I should read it, I said okay, and I had to be true to my word and now I can't get enough of Grippando and will be reading every book he's written.

Book Review "Before I Fall"

Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver is a young adult book, which follows Samantha Kingston being a senior in a Connecticut high school. Sam and her posse enjoy Cupid Day, and later go to a part at Kent's place. No one knows what will happen on that car ride back. The car in which Sam and her friends are in hits something or someone, and Sam dies, but the next day Sam is reliving Cupid Day, you follow Sam for a whole week of reliving the day in which she dies, she tries to figure out why she is stuck on Cupid Day, and does just about everything. It takes her seven days to make everything right, and when she does, she isn't afraid of dying (for the third time at least).

This novel is Oliver's first but is well written and when you start it, you won't want to put it down! I would highly recommend this book to any teenager or young adult. Oliver does a great job playing Sam, you almost feel as if you are one of Sam's friends and know and feel what is going on in the book. I hope that this book is just mark the beginning of Oliver's books and I hope to see another one just as good as this one within the upcoming years!

The "Perfect" Daughter

So this post is for all of those parents out there, and even soon-to-be parents. I've always been curious, what do you qualify a perfect daughter? How should she act, what should she wear, how would she talk, what does she like to do? So make a comment and explain your "perfect" daughter.
