Lidna Power! Random Dozen

This weeks Random Dozen comes from Linda over at Mocha with Linda, she helped out Lid from 2nd Cup of Coffee this week, and now we have a Random Dozen right before our eyes, so thanks Linda :)

1. Do you prefer to read the book or see the movie? Read the book, then watch the movie if it was a really good book and the previews look really good.

2. What is your favorite holiday and why?  Thanksgiving, because it's a time to give thanks to God for what you have and realize that if you have a roof over your head, a bed to sleep in, and heat to keep you warm, you're doing okay.

3. Which do you like better - the mountains or the beach? For vacation the beach, to live the mountains preferable the verde montis (green mountins) over in Vermont, such a beautiful view.

4. If money were no consideration, what vehicle would you drive? My baby, a 1968 Stingray Corvette, red of course.

5. What is your favorite cold-weather beverage? Mocha Hot Chocolate, mix some coffee with the hot chocolate and you're all good. Or some hot apple cider from one of the many local orchards, yummy :)

6. How do you communicate most often with your friends: phone, email, text, face-to-face, or Facebook? Most of my friends would be Facebook or email, then again most of them are all in CT. My MA friends usually face-to-face, phone call/text, or an email it all depends

7. How do you receive your mail? Mailbox on the porch, at the end of the driveway, down the street, or post office box? Oh, well in my lovely stupid town we clearly don't believe in mail delivery, so we have to get our mail from the post office, at our po box, stupid, I know!

8. Of the four basic personality types - sanguine, phlegmatic, melancholic, and choleric - which is your strongest? Which is your least evident? (See definitions below.) Can I state that these are all SAT words? Well I'm going to, these are all SAT words! Anyways, I'm most sanguine, even though it's definition is cheerfully optimistic, I'm most sanguine than any of the other, but my personal favorite is phlegmatic ;)

9. What do you miss the most about being 20? Can I do 10? I'm not 20 yet, so I'll do 10! Ummm, not caring what the world was doing around me, and of course horseback riding!!

10. How long from the time you get up, does it take you to get ready to walk out the door in the morning? It depends what I'm doing in the morning, if I have to leave maybe 10 minutes, if I have some time about an hour depending how long it takes me to dry my hair.

11. Who handles the car maintenance and pays the bills in your family? Ha, Mom does all of that fun stuff :)

12. For those in the US, how many states have you visited? For those outside the US, how many provinces/other countries have you visited? I'm around 24 give or take a couple states, I can't really remember ;)

PSAT? Nope, sorry Random Dozen First!

Well, I really should have been studying yesterday instead of answers my questions to the Random Dozen, because right now, if you're up at like 7:30 and are reading my blog. I'm stuck in a High School class room taking my PSAT! On the brightside I started my day off yesterday with a PSAT word curtousy of Linda, Amalgam is a SAT word and is currently on my vocab ring. It means a combination of different substances into one mass and it is a noun. Anways this conversation is a little vaccuous (vaccuous means dull or lacking substance), don't you think?

1. Is there a word which you initially mispronounced? Were the circumstances in which you made the faux pas embarrassing? By the way, that's not "foax pass." (I know you know that. Just jokin' with ya.) Oh, there have been a few, luckily it's only been with my family for example my mom's running mate, John Szewczyk, well I sounded it out, and let me just say it dosen't work for his last name, it's properly pronouced shef-shick, go figure!

2. How do you feel about the use of texting shortcuts and trends? (ex: "I've got ur notes. Get them 2 u 2morow.") It depends on the person that I'm texting or talking to, for example if I was talking to my boss, I'll go to the point of proper punctuation, but if I'm talking to one of my friends then I'll usually slip in some shorthand, but nothing like: ily! c u 2moro? k ttyl.

3. Tell me about your high school senior picture. Please feel free to post. This question makes me laconic (ah ha! Anothe SAT word, laconic means disposed to using few words), since I'm not even a Senior yet, sorry!

5. Share a high school or college homecoming memory. Oh! There was as Flashback Friday done for this one! I'll make the story short, and then link to my blog with the enlongated story. Well I wasn't allowed to go to my homecomming with my boyfriend, because I was homeschooled. I was indomitable (SAT word usage number 3, holla! Indomitable means unable to be conquered it) that night, I had my own homecomming! To read the whole blog post, click here!

6. Linda at Mocha with Linda wants to know: "Do you prefer sunrises or sunsets?" Sunsets for some reason are so much more beautiful, they are breathtaking!

7. Lea at Cici's Corner asks, "What is something you have not done that you desire to do?" Travel abroad, I would love to take a month in England & Ireland, go to France and Italy, make a stop in Germany & Austria, and of course own horses!

8. Carol at Wanderings of an Elusive Mind ponders, "If you could come back [in another life] as an animal, which would it be?" A horse, specifically a black fresian mare, fresians are so pretty and so eloquent. I would love to be a fresian, as a long as I got a good owner :)

9. Joyce from The Other Side of the Pond is curious: "Where were you 10 years ago?" Please feel free to elaborate more than just your physical location. I was in my old hometown, in kindergarten with an awesome teacher, whoms name escapes me currently, and would probably be coming home to my grandmother and grandfather since both parents work full time. It would be a time of joy and simplicity that I miss dearly.

10. When you are proven to be correct in any contentious discussion, do you gloat? It depends who I was talking to, if it was with Mom, of course be we always need to refer back to Cae's three rules, "Rule number 1, I'm always right, Rule number 2, if I'm wrong please refeer back to rule number 1, and rule number 597 if I'm still wrong please go back to rule number 2,"

11. What is your favorite food which includes the ingredient "caramel?" Well I love Caramel Apples, but I also love a Maple St. Crepe from the cafe in my old home town, but my by far favorite drink containing caramel would be. . . Drum roll please. . . A Grande Caramel Applce Spice from Starbucks!

12. From my 17 year-old daughter to you: "If you could be part of any fictional family, which family would you choose and why?" (She's so cute. And clever.) The Addams Family!!! I would love to be Wednesday!!! But other than that, I would prefer to keep my own even though the boys are immature and annoying over every boy that looks at me, I still love them and would never trade them, except on occasion!

You can go and answer your own questions and then link up at 2nd Cup of Coffee!

Random Dozen!

This week's Random Dozen theme is: Questions from Us! You! Whoever does the Random Dozen! It was Lid's birthday, Happy Belated Birthday Lid! So she asked us to think of questions for her!! Hope you enjoy :) You can link you to the Random Dozen at 2nd Cup of Coffee, enjoy :)

1. From "Men Are Dumb ....": If you had a theme song that played whenever you walked into a room full of people, what would it be? You know, I was just thinking about this while I was at camp, becuase my origional one was The Climb by Miley Cyrus, because I was moving and all and I hated the new town. But I have now grown out of that phase, and I'm kind of in the look for a new one, I guess if I have to put something down, then it might as well be Wonder Pets Theme Song =]

2. From Pam of "Alert And Oriented x 4": Which of your shoes are your absolute favorite, and which are of the object of your most painful shoe-buyer's remorse? My favorite pair of shoes are these black heels that I bought for a wedding, that's happening next Sunday, but they are so comfortable and they are oh, they were worth the money!!

My most painful shoe-buyer's remorse, well first off Mom bought this pair for me, but I was with her. These black heels were for a homecomming I never went to, and let me just say I have no clue how I would have danced in these if I did go to the homecomming. These shoes are the most painful shoes I have ever worn!

3. From Susanne of "Living to Tell the Story": Tell about your favorite birthday celebration that you've personally experienced. It was my surprise birthday, It was on February 1st, 2003. That date ring a bell? Space Shuttle Columbia crashed that day. I was coming home form a basketball game and my father was lectring me on anticipation and NPR was playing that the space shuttle had crashed, that actually stopped dad from the lecture, we walked into my house. I was compleately sweaty and disgusting, and there was a sign for "Cae's Spa, happy birthday" on the railing. My mom threw an at home spa surprise birthday part for me after I've been hinting on both for a while! It was one of my favorite parties!

4. From Lori of "Just me and My Life": If you were a flavor of ice cream, which would you be? I would be a Ben and Jerry's flavor, no doubt! Chocolate Macadamia would be my flavor, I'm rich (As in really good) like the chocolate and I'm a little nuts ;)

5. Cindy Swanson of "Notes in the Key of Life" asks: Have you ever had a crush on a movie star? Who was it, and are you still crushing? You know, I never really have- - -I guess in some films there are some really cute actors, but the main one for me would probably be Jack (Leonard DiCaprio) from the Titanic.

6. Jill from "Jill Boyd's Place" inquires: Glasses or braces--if you had to wear one, which would it be? Does it count if I already wore braces? I would do glasses, that way they don't cause pain on my mouth 24/7, they don't effect what I eat, and I can always change the style, right?

7. Nel from "Fasteneau Facts" asks: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? Paris, France; Vienna, Austria; or somewhere in England

8. Thena from "Patiently Waiting" wants to know: If money were no obstacle, what would be the perfect birthday gift to receive? Do I even need to answer this one? It would be a 1968 Stingray Corvette, red of course.

9. From "Life Through Bifocals," LynnMarie asks: What is your favorite birthday meal? Beef Stroganof, my grandmother's recpie!!!

10. Debby at "Just Breathe" checks in with: Do you still send hand-written thank you notes? Yes I do, a hand written note shows how much the gift must have ment to you, or else why would you be writing this letter?

11. Linda from "Mocha with Linda" poses this question: What is something you've done that you never thought you'd do? Ohh I don't know, I'm sure that Mom could give you a list a mile long, but I can't really thing of anything. Acutally, I lied- - - I never thought of being a waitress or even serving at an event, but I accomplished that last year at my libraries Prime Rib Dinner.

I'm on the left and V, S's daughter, is on the right.

12. Jewel, my homegirl from Indiana who writes at "Musings from the World of Jewel," is very insistent that we answer this: Mount Rushmore honors four US Presidents: Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt. If you could add any person to Mount Rushmore, who would you add and why? You know, I wouldn't add another president. Mainly because I haven't made my desicion on which predsident has done a good job and who's my favorite president, but at the same time I think that Mount Rushmore has the right presidents up there, and we shouldn't change that. Of course if I ever become president, I should be added there, don't you think?

Random Dozen!!

1. What insect are you most afraid of? Feel free to post a picture. Mostly all of them, spiders aren't insects, are they? Well if they are then most definitely a spider. Actually, the other day I was talking to my grandfather while I was in my old hometown, and this white spider thingy was crawling up my arm and I freaked, but couldn't make noise since my grandfather was talking, and my loving father thought it was hysterical!
2. What is the greenest/most organic thing about you or that you do?
I attempt to eat all organic, does that count? Well my cereal isn't organic, but it used to be. I loved puffins cereal, but now that I think about it, was that organic? Oh well, but I eat organic eggs, meat, produce. The family usually buys only local produce when it's in season, yummy :)
3. Tell me about a recurring dream that haunts you.
A recurring dream that haunts me, well that would involve some past history of Cae's and well she's not going to share that on the world-wide web, but I can tell a recurring dream, it just doesn't haunt me. Okay, my recurring dreams for some odd reason. Usually involve the libraries, we have two in town, and the bad blood between them. And of course Cae needs to mess it up by dating someone- - -Isn't that fun? Well the night I had it first, it freaked me out, but compared to the actual one that haunts me, it's not that bad.
4. Have you ever missed a flight? What were the circumstances?
Within all the times that I've traveled I don't think I ever have, even with the stupid layovers that only give you like 15 minuets to go from one end of the air port to the other.
5. What do you consider your best feature?
My personality ;) What type of question is this Linda?! Ummm, seriously, well I don't know! I don't think about my best feature!
6. What was the last concert you went to? Randy Travis, several years ago at a fair.
7. Describe the most embarrassing church moment you ever experienced. Can I say, that I don't have one? I don't really think I have one, well I'm usually behaved in church and always controled, so embarrassing moments wouldn't happen when I'm like that. Sorry :)
8. Are you a whistler, hummer or singer? Singer, by far, I'm pretty sure not everyone sings while they're board or while they're finding the hold list at work ;)
9. George Washington Carver said, "I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in." What is God saying to you through nature today, or this very minute? "I know how much you love to go to work in the rain, so I'm going to have it rain today and FRIDAY! *evil God laughter here*", Umm no, I don't think he's saying that, but it sure feels like it! So he's probably saying "The sun can come out even when it's raining, just look at your sunflower," now that's more like what God would say ;)
I couldn't find my sunflower picture, so you get  Black Eyed Susan! Same difference, right?

10. On September, 1, 1752, the Liberty Bell arrived in Philadelphia. What memorable event will take place in your life on September 1, 2010? WORK! Other than that, there isn't anything- - -Wow, I have such a dull and boring life.
11. Taco Bell or the Liberty Bell? (You must choose.)
Like as in the Liberty Bell, like the one in Philadelphia? No brainer I would take the Liberty Bell, like really I don't feel like getting e. Coli any day soon  ;)
12. Do you believe men and women can have purely platonic friendships?
Platonic, now that's a word that beat the SATs, HA! Take that SAT book, I found a word that isn't in you! How do you like that? I'm thinking you don't, do you! Okay, sorry about that back there, Cae is working on getting her PSAT this October so in her stupid brain she gets an SAT book, because it must be harder, so if I can get a good score on the SAT then all is good. So Cae has been doing vocab for the past couple days, and thinks her brain is mush now. Anyways, back to the questions, do I believe men and woman can have purely platonic friendship? Yes I do :)

If you liked my answers, then go and write your own and then link up at Linda's blog 2nd Cup of Coffee! Yes, that's you, go right now!

A Random Dozenless June

I was recently informed, okay I was looking for the Random Dozen questions for this week on Lidna's blog, and saw that there will be no Random Dozens for the month of June! Lid is burned out, and hopefully will be coming back in July with a "New and Improved" Random Dozen! So I'm giong to apologize ahead of time for me not being as good as I usually am for Wednesday blog posts, but I will try my best! Until July, you're gonna have to bear with me on Wednesdays, now if Linda at Mocha with Linda takes the month of June off, then I'm in serious blogging trouble!! So there will be no linking to Mr. Linky today :(

Random Dozen

This weeks Random Dozen from 2nd Cup of Coffee is going to be a lot more easy than last weeks!

1. Would you rather host party or simply attend a party? It would of course depend on the party, I would love to host a Kentucky Derby Party and make Mint Juleps and everything, but like Birthday Parties are just too much work every year, so I would just attend those.

2. Tell us about the most memorable party you've been to. Hmmm, I need to think about this one a little bit more ;)

3. What is one thing you hope for in the after-life? Books, A lot of book, and maybe some music, and maybe a piano! Oops, didn't read the word "one" again. Sorry Lid ;)

4. What do you enjoy most about sunshine? The sunny part of it? I just like the sunshine, I like the whole idea of reading my book out in the sunshine!

5. When you attend a bridal/baby shower, do you prefer to bring your own gift or chip in with others to buy a larger gift? It depends, it the Bride/Soon-to-be Mom has most of the stuff and she wants the one large item, then I'll chip in, but if not I buy my own gift.

6. Would you rather have a FREE week of having your house cleaned or all of your meals cooked for you and your family? I like cooking, so I could choose having my house cleaned, because cleaning is all a drag!

7. What song describes your mood today? I don't know, it's too early. Happy maybe, excited to go to work today :D Oh SONG!!! Probably Ave Maria

8. What is something you received for your own bridal shower/wedding that you still own or use? (If you are not married, feel free to sub a gift you received a long time ago.) Bun Bun! I got this stuffed bunny years ago (I'll upload a picture after work) She only has one ear, and I had to sew the other whole of where the ear used to be, and she is White and Black, and she is my Bun Bun!

9. Your favorite flavor of ice cream is? Phish Food from Ben & Jerry's or maybe American Pie, from Ben & Jerry's

10. When was the last time you felt "tested?" This morning, when someone was testing temporary hair dye on my hair, I'll write a blog after I do this one :)

11. "[Fill in the blank] is a food that once I start eating I find really hard to stop." Pistachios, as one of my favorite NCIS characters, Abby Schotio, say "Have you ever eaten just one pistachio?!"

12. "-----" is the best motivation. My Favorite Things from the Sound of Music

One Random Dozen

It's that time again!! This week is the Random Dozen from Lid's amazing blog 2nd Cup of Coffee!!! Today's theme is: "One", uh oh there will be a disclaimer for me on this one! Well enjoy and make your own Random Dozen and link back up to 2nd Cup of Coffee!!!

**Disclaimer: Cae will have a really hard time with this weeks theme, One, it is very hard for Cae to actually do/think/talk about one thing at a time, just ask anyone who is friends with her. So Lid and readers I'm going to apologize because this one (haha no pun intended) I really had to think and control myself and try to put only one answer up!**

1. What is one really fast, know-by-heart "go-to" meal to fix in a pinch? Ramen Noodle Soup? Or Pasta, I can make pasta pretty fast.
2. What is one item you won't leave home without. (Purse and license do not count.)
Keys!!! If I ever left home without my house keys (or work keys depending on the day) it would be very bad! If Keys don't count, my mini calendar. . . Well the one that fits in my purse. I always carry it around with me.
3. Where is one place you never tire of visiting? The library!!! If that doesn't show I'm a geek, I think the next best thing is a huge sign pointing to me saying "Geek"
4. Share one factoid of your family's history. My mom was adopted many moons ago, and now I have a ton of family (does that count?). Okay, let me think of a better one. On my mom's adopted fathers side (followed me?) the family rented out a cottage at Hawk's Nest Beach in Old Lyme, CT. The Hurricane of '68 was devastating to CT and the coastline especially. Our family cottage was blown completely off of the plot and into the swamp. The father went out to retrieve the families stuff, and so did the son. The son got sick with Scarlett Fever. On the day that the son died the father killed himself (before his son actually died). Or I could put up a boring story from dad's side, or a really cool story from mom's birth side (her birth family and adoptive family are all really cool, I could go on and on with stories from them!)
5. Complete this sentence: "Once upon a time I ...." Fell  off of Geffrey, my Belgian Draft Horse, onto the only rock in the indoor rings. I landed on this rock on my back, and I had a huge bruise! Jenn, my riding teacher asked me if I was alright, I was. Then offered if I would like to keep the rock to show my friends. I declined and said that I will show them the bruise. The End ☺
6. If you could win a one year's supply of anything, what would it be? STARBUCKS COFFEE or CARAMEL APPLE SPICE!!!!!!!!!
7. "One quirky thing you may not know about me is ...."
I shelve all of the hold books at the library and when I organize my books at home they are all put in order by height then alphabetically (dose that count as quirky or just weird?)
8. You have one dollar in your pocket. What will you buy? Nothing, I would put it into my bank account and have it earn interest (smart idea!). Oh, if I had to buy something I would go to McDonald's and buy my daddy two Cherry Pies, since they're his favorite!
9. "One thing that always makes me laugh is ...." My boss S or my Best-Guy-Friend A.J! The two of them I know will make me laugh/smile every time I come in contact with them :D Love you guys ♥
10. What is one thing you could do today to help yourself reach a personal goal? Read another chapter in the Bible
11. What is one thing you could do today to bless someone else?
Hmmmmm, okay so I'm answering these on a Tuesday to think of a Wednesday. . .Well I wouldn't calling blessing someone, maybe payback. But the library board is going to sing Happy Birthday to S today (Wednesday)!!
12. What is one thing you're looking forward to soon? Work tomorrow??
Ummmm, there is a state of the town meeting tonight, but that might not be a good looking forward to. . .Oh how about play rehearsal? Or maybe just a cup of coffee? Lidna!!! I can't choose just ONE thing for this!!!

If you enjoyed today's Random Dozen, go check out Lidna's blog 2nd Cup of Coffee!!

Randomly Thinking

1. Please share one memory of your high school graduation. Pics would be great! Since I'm still in high school, and that I'm homeschooled this would be kind of hard for me to do.
2. What is one "emergency use" item you keep in your vehicle at all times? I think we have maps, a cell phone, and an air pump in mom's car (woops that was over one, sorry Lid). And in my dad's truck we have an air pump, cell phone, and more maps.
3. In your region, do you celebrate graduation open houses? Addendum: (If so,) how many open houses/bridal showers/weddings are on your upcoming events calendar? I don't think we do, I don't know if we do in our region, huh. . .Guess I'll have to go find out.
4. Tell me one truth you believe about motherhood. I'm not in motherhood yet, so I won't answer this question.
5. What was the last thing you broke? An egg. . . .Seriously? A Sam Adams Beer Glass while cleaning the dishes. Thus why I think that we should go to paper plates (sorry earth) until we get a dishwasher!
6. On average, how many pieces of junk mail do you receive daily? In my email way to much to even count, in the mail mail well at least 3
7. Do you like to shop by catalog? Some times, I never buy from catalog because sizing is what gets me, so I always need to go to the store, just to make sure it fits and it looks nice on me.
8. Is lawn maintenance at your house a "his job," a "her job" or "his/her job" or "that's why we have teenagers" job? It's a "brother job". . .We have a push mower and since I already have a job job I gave J the joy of mowing the lawn for $20, he's happy on that note.
9. Which room would you like to redecorate in your home? My bedroom.
10. Do you read a newspaper regularly, or do you read most of your news on line? I get my news from my email, and I read the local paper when it comes out.
11. Do you believe everything happens for a reason? Yes I do, I believe that God always had a plan for us, and weather we realize it at the time that everything is going to work out, and that what happened did happen for a reason. As mom would say Romans 8:28

28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

12. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things? Doing things right, I need to be perfect! I have to be perfect, or else I don't let myself down, I'll let other people down so I need to do things right, kind of like how I should be making my flier for the story time prettier.

Liked the questions? Well check out Lidna's Blog 2nd Cup of Coffee and do the Random Dozen yourself this week!!

12. How do you maintain balance in your life regarding, work, family, church, other organizations and activities, and blogging? Um, Lid can you see my blog isn't as active as yours. . .I wish I knew because I'm starting to feel bad for my blog, since I no longer find time to blog, and when I do have time to blog it's blogging for my library and not for this one, and if the library blog is done, then I don't have a post for this one! How my mom can accomplish living like this I have no clue, because I need coffee to help me through my daily life!
