Taking A Cup of Tea with Mom and Me to a New Level

Sometimes, you can be so dedicated to an idea that it starts to define you.  DD and I have always enjoyed our tea time together, thus the blog title; but this weekend, we took it to a new level.  It wasn't just a cup of tea with mom and me: it was mom and mom and mom and mom and mom and mom and several me's.  We celebrated DD's 16th B'day at a tea house with 5 fellow girls and 6 moms.  Some people may think this could be boring, but with our group boring is not in our vocabulary.  Fun is wherever we are.  And on this afternoon fun was at Tea Roses Tea Room. Where we devoured yummy food (those cucumber sandwiches where the perfect blend of sweet and pepper), laughed until we cried, reminisced about days gone by, and planned to never let these friendships dissipate.

So here is to a little more tea for all the moms and daughters out there.  May you always find time for tea with each other.

PS Happy Birthday, yet again.

Love,
Mom

Quotes

So for my Girl Scout Gold Award, I'm working on the Home Improvement I.P. and I have to refurbish a piece of furniture, so I bought a corner table at a local flea market, and have been working on it. Well I finally got the first coat of paint on it, and have the plan in my head. It's going to have a quote on the top, and a quote around the bottom of the top, see the flat part? Well I have one quote chosen, Romans 8:28, but I still need another quote, and it's so hard for me to choose one quote, because I love them all! So any suggestions?

I'm going to write the quote in a metallic gold, which will accent the gold stars on the accent wall, which is a dark purple. I'll upload the pictures when everything is completed.

You May Now Call Me Representative Cae A.

Well today, I had a program at the state house over in Boston with Girl Scouts. And while I was there I was able to meet with the staff of my senator and representative, and talk about the library and what the budget cuts to the regional library systems will do. Although, both my senator and representative were out in the district, meeting with their staff was better. I met three people and they were awesome and they answered my questions! While partying at the State House, I was able to debate a bill that was just passed by the senate with some fellow Girl Scouts, this was awesome and I got them to amend that the word "Homeschoolers" should be put in it 82 Yea's to 16 Nays. . . Awesome I think so! Well I took a picture of me in the House of Representatives, and I think I'm going to take my reps job, well that is if I didn't love my library too much!

You may now call me Representative Cae A.

I just want to be ME!

I never really thought about being a follower, I was always a leader, but since I moved I've looked around me, looked in my closet, and I've kind of lost touch with some close friends, and I've realized, I've never been a leader. I've always been a follower. This morning I was so fed up with being a follower, that I just need to be me sometimes. I don't hate pink, I actually like it. I love skirts and dresses. I love wearing high heels. Makeup is alright, but I don't go over load on it. I love wearing sweatpants. I want to be the good student who can graduate high school next year. I want to be the girl who is headstrong, and can do everything that I dream of. I want to be more like me instead of E, Em, Syd, Myrn. I want to be C, Dear Daughter. I want to be myself.

I don't know why and how I got fed up with everything, but I am and I think it's time for some change. It's time for me to change back to ME!

With Love,
The True and Real C

Three Little Angels

Three Little Angels

(source: "The Worm Song and Other Tasty Tunes, Janet Wilson, 1993.)

Three little angels all dressed in white
Tried to get to heaven on the end of a kite
But the kite tail broke
And down they all fell
Instead of going to heave they all went to. . .
(repeat with) Two little angels...
(repeat with) One little angel...

Three little devils all dressed in red
Tried to get to heaven on the end of a thread
But the thread piece broke
And down they all fell
Instead of going to heave they all went to. . .
(repeat with) Two little devils...
(repeat with) One little devil...

Three little leprechauns all dressed in green
Tried to get to heaven on a sewing machine
But the needle was broken
And down they all fell
Instead of going to heave they all went to. . .
(repeat with) Two little leprechauns...
(repeat with) One little leprechaun...

Three little robbers all dressed in black
Tried to get to heaven on a caddalic
But the caddy broke
And down they all fell
Instead of going to heave they all went to. . .
(Repeat with) Two little robbers. . .
(Repeat with) One little robber. . .

Three little Martians all dressed in green
Tried to get to heaven on a washing machine
But the spinner broke
And down they all fell,
Instead of going to heave they all went to. . .
(repeat with) Two little Martians...
(repeat with) One little Martian...

Three little goblins all dressed in blue
Tried to get to heaven on a B-52
But the big plane broke
And down they all fell,
Instead of going to heave they all went to. . .
(repeat with) Two little goblins...
(repeat with) One little goblins...
Don't get excited, don't lose your head,
They couldn't get to heaven so they all went to BED!

Mom did I sign myself up for this?

Well you all know I'm a Girl Scout, so I'm done selling cookies, and I'm waiting to hear when I'll be picking them up, I was sending emails to our cookie moms last night, but then we get a phone call from Trish, saying that no one from our troop showed up, so guess who had to go? You're right ME and my MOM! Mom and I have been doing cookies forever, I kind of even got her to be the Service Unit Cookie Mom, so we get there and mom and I are loading the 60 cases of Girl Scout cookies into my dad's truck. We get home and unload them, while mom and I are unloaded I looked at mom and asked "Please tell me that I didn't sign myself up for this?", she started laughing. I just finsihed organizing all the cookies for the girls in my girl scout troop, who will be coming throughout this weekend, so I can get these 60 cases of Girl Scout Cookies out of my house!!!

I never though I would be helping out with cookies again, but I guess I thought wrong. Now only if parents would return my phone calls. Well I'll be happier after I get all of these cookies out of my house!

With Lots of Love

Girl Scout Gold Award in Proccess

I'm in the process of earning my Girl Scout Gold Award, and one of the requirements is to start a buisness. So that is what I'm doing. My mom and I are currently selling prints on Deviant Art, and I'm making bracelets to sell on Etsy.com

If you want to buy one of the prints please go here If you want to check out my gallery go here and if you want to join Deviant Art go here

I'll get more updated stuff up and running, and I'll even get my etsy shop up, so if you want to help support me, buy a print or two!

Thanks,
C

Conneticut to Massachusetts Comparison 3

Girl Scout Troop

I love Girl Scouts, my mom has been through it, and has brought one troop through and has another troop with her daughter, me. Up here in MA it was very hard to find an "older girl" troop, needless to say we still haven't found one, but there is a Girl Scout troop in the area, but they're 1st years and 4 years younger than me, so there isn't really a friendship there, it's just "oh, well you're the only troop in the area." The main troop in CT has been together since Kindergaten. We've built huge friendships, we laugh, cry, and laugh some more when we're together. The friendships that I've built in CT, I hope I can make then up here.
