The Library
As you can see the major fact is the size. The library in CT is larger that my current library. This past weekend I was back in my hometown and I dragged my gandfather to the library. I was bombarded with questions from the librarians. The YA Librarian was happy to hear that I'm volunteering at the library, and that I applied to become a Sub-Professional Librarian. I'm glad that I was able to go back to my library, it was nice, but for some reason the small library I have back at home has a strong connection with me.
The library up here is small, bbut it has character. I know the whole staff and %70 of the board. I've met patrons, and I've made friends.
The past couple days I've been thinking of the "what ifs" in life. The major one for me is "what is the library on the other side of town wasn't closed?" The only reason that I'm volunteering at the library I am now, instead of the one on the other side of town, was because that one was closed, and when I learned that we had another library I pestered my mother to drive me. Even though my first words in my library was "mom, it's small". I've learned that size doesn't matter, its who works there that matters.
I might have downsized my library, but I've learned more here than I would have in CT.
